Tonk | On National Highway-52 in Tonk district, a Scorpio driven by Congress MLA Suresh Gurjar collided head-on with a bike carrying former Umar village Sarpanch Babu Mohan Meena around 10:30 AM. The accident resulted in the immediate death of the former Sarpanch, and one of his legs was severed in the collision.

Eyewitnesses said the MLA stayed at the site briefly before leaving in his vehicle, which angered locals. They blocked the highway with the body in protest, causing a major traffic jam. The incident occurred near Basni Ganeshji Temple. Babu Mohan Meena had served as the village Sarpanch since 1991, and his father Gangaram Meena was a legislator from the Jana Sangh from 1963 to 1968. Suresh Gurjar, the MLA from Khanpur constituency, had lost the 2018 election but won again in 2023. Police and ambulances arrived promptly, dispersing protesters and clearing the jam, while investigations into the incident continue.
