Tonk | A political controversy erupted in Rajasthan’s Tonk district after former BJP MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria allegedly took back blankets from Muslim women during a distribution event. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon around 3:30 PM at the Sitaram Ji Temple premises in Kareeda Bujurg village of Niwai area. During the event, the former MP asked a woman her name. When she replied “Sakuran Khan,” he reportedly objected and said, "Those who abuse Modi have no right to take these blankets. Leave the blanket here." He maintained that the event was a personal initiative and not a government scheme.
Women Level Allegations
Elderly women Sakuran, Razia, and Zubaida alleged that blankets were initially given to them but were later taken back after their religious identity became known. Later in the evening, local Congress leaders and villagers honored the women. Congress leader Vikram Chaudhary stated that humanity is above politics and religion.
