Karauli | In a major anti-corruption operation in Nadoti, Karauli district of Rajasthan, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught SDM Kajal Meena, along with her reader and a UDC, red-handed while accepting a bribe. The case has taken a dramatic turn with the recovery of additional cash from the office.
According to officials, the SDM had allegedly demanded a bribe in exchange for giving a favorable decision in a land partition (takasama) case. The complainant reported that an initial demand of ₹1 lakh was made, which was later settled at ₹50,000. After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap. On Thursday evening, when the complainant reached the SDM office with the money, the reader Dinesh and UDC Praveen accepted ₹60,000—₹50,000 for the SDM and ₹10,000 for themselves. As soon as the money was exchanged, the ACB team intervened and caught the reader and UDC on the spot. Subsequently, SDM Kajal Meena was also arrested.
During the search operation, officials recovered not only the ₹60,000 bribe amount but also an additional ₹4 lakh in cash from the office premises. The source of this money is currently under investigation. The ACB is now probing deeper to determine whether this was an isolated incident or part of a larger corruption network.
