Himalayan Griffon Vulture got injured after colliding with high tension electricity line. This incident happened on Friday in Degrai Mandir Oran area of Savta village of Fatehgarh tehsil of Jaisalmer. Animal keeper Bhom Singh saw it on the spot and informed environmental conservator Sumer Singh Bhati.

Sumer Singh told the forest department that Himalayan Griffon Vulture is a rare and protected species of bird. Which migrates to the Oran areas of Jaisalmer in winter. Survey work is also going on here for a wind power plant. Due to which there is anger among the villagers. The demand for taking concrete steps for the protection of this vulture, which comes in the first category under the Wildlife Protection Act, is also increasing.
