Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in NIT Hamirpur, local workers were trained in 18 trades including mason, woodworker and carpenter. After which now the trained workers i.e. masons will use other high-tech equipment. They will be able to build houses in villages with laser technology. They will not need any kind of tape to measure the length, width and height of the house. Length, width and height can be measured with just one click with the laser distance meter. 11 and 21 masons were also trained in carpentry trade in the center established in the architecture department of NIT. During the training, the masons were also given a stipend of Rs 500 per day. Also, after completing the training, PM Vishwakarma certificate, identity card and toolkit of Rs 15 thousand were also distributed to the beneficiaries. Besides, a loan of upto Rs. 3 lakh at an interest rate of 5% has also been provided to the applying beneficiaries.
